Meet Avery Wilkinson – 2022 BC Summer Games Para-Equestrian Team Member
We would like to introduce to you BCTRA member Avery Wilkinson one of this year’s para-equestrian participants in the 2022 BC Summer Games in Prince George, BC – July 21-24, 2022.
How long have you been riding?
I have been riding for five years.
How and where did you get involved?
I had never ridden horses before and it was a great place to start my journey.
Are you associated with one of our member centers?
I ride at Kamloops Therapeutic Riding Association.
What are you most looking forward to at the Summer Games?
I am most looking forward to meeting new people and having new experiences.
Tell us about your horse.
My horse’s name is Chevy. He is a 15-year-old Canadian Morgan cross. He loves treats and has thick, crazy hair. He also likes to nibble on anything and anyone.
Who is on your team?
My family supports and cheers me on and my sister even volunteers at Kamloops Therapeutic Riding Association. Ashley Sudds is my coach at KTRA and offered me the opportunity to compete/qualify for the BC Summer Games. I am grateful for the challenges and time my coach has given me on my way to the Games.
